Freely Offering Real Teaching Experiences
A PROGRAM FOR NEW AND DEVELOPING TEACHERS

Helping children develop a lifelong love of music is a goal of every music educator in Indiana.   Our pathway is determined by how we approach the daily challenges of teaching.  Our retired music teachers are a valuable resource.   After spending the greater portion of their lives guiding students, that dedication to teaching music has not gone away.   As a new or developing teacher, their expertise and experiences could be of benefit to you.  This program is voluntary, both on your part as well as the mentoring teacher.

Please contact the IMEA Retired Members Chair Gena Hastings (genahastings@hotmail.com) with any questions about this program.

By filling out the form below you understand that:

  • You would give your permission to be contacted by a retired teacher in your area of the state.
  • Your area of expertise, (band, choir, orchestra, general music) would be matched with that of a retired teacher.
  • The retired teacher could contact you for discussion directed toward your concerns.
  • This contact would initially be made by phone or email.
